For the final assignment in the Design Principles and Strategies course, we were tasked with taking a local business and rebranding it. I chose Taste of the Caribbean, a local eatery that specializes in Guyanese, Jamaican, and Trinidadian cuisine. The main challenge? Lack of cohesion and solid branding.

I wanted to keep some elements of the original logo such as the palm tree and the colors of the sunset. I started by simplifying the logo to a bold text and paired it with a clever illustration of a palm tree, but instead of using the tree’s trunk, I replaced it with a fork. I also drew color inspiration from the environment, such as the blue of the water, which I used as an accent color for the inside of the envelopes.
